What is your motivation for obtaining your degree?
Since undergraduate, I have been working with youth and I love what I do. In order to help them the way I want to, I need this education to propel me on to another level of knowledge and certification so that I am able to provide them with the best quality care and services.
Why did you choose Averett’s Graduate & Professional Studies Program?
As an undergraduate student, my experience at Averett was phenomenal with support from staff and faculty. The professors made it their mission to truly educate me as a student and make sure I was able to apply the information learned. Averett’s GPS program provides that traditional school setting that I feel I learn best in and it allows for me to have the flexibility within my daily life to attend school and still complete my daily tasks. Attending Averett’s GPS program was an easy choice to make.
Please share one tip for your fellow classmates and future AU students.
One tip I have for my fellow classmates and future AU students is to keep your eyes on the prize. There will be many obstacles and/or distractions that appear while on this journey, but you have to remain focused with the ending goal in mind.
What helps to keep you motivated while you are in the program?
The work that I am doing with the youth and want to continue doing with this degree is what keeps me motivated.
