What is your motivation for obtaining your degree?
I am continuing to pursue advancement in the nursing field. After the initial step of obtaining my RN, earning my bachelors provides the necessary professional and administrative stepping stone for my career goals.
Why did you choose Averett’s Graduate & Professional Studies Program?
I am a working mother with three young children. I needed a schedule flexible enough to fit into my family dynamic and challenging enough to push me to the edge of my comfort zone encouraging me to strive harder for what I want.
Please share one tip for your fellow classmates and future AU students.
There is never a good reason to not pursue your dreams, only excuses.
What helps to keep you motivated while you are in the program?
My kids…yeah right, just kidding. I love them but, I want to mean something to myself and feel that I make a substantial impact in the lives of others. I think about what I can do, where I can go and how this takes me one step closer to greater independence. Additionally, I think about the accomplishment; achieving something I have put so much effort into. I find that to be extremely motivating unto itself.
