My name is Christy Filer and I am a student at Averett University’s GPS Program. I work at a defense contractor as a secretary to the Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations. My motivation to earn my degree at Averett University’s GPS Program is not only just for career advancement purposes, but also I enjoy learning and I value higher education. What I’ve enjoyed most about my experience at Averett University’s GPS Program has been the support not only from the faculty and staff, but also from my fellow students. The support system that you have there can make a world of difference, just supporting yourself with uplifting and supportive people who are continually pushing you forward just makes a big difference.
If I knew someone interested in attending Averett University’s GPS Program I would tell them to go for it, to put one foot in front of the other and not compare your beginning to somebody else’s middle, and just to carve your own path in dealing with that.
