Criminal Justice Minor
A minor enhances any college degree with additional skills and makes you more valuable to potential employers. A Criminal Justice Minor, pursued in addition to your major and general education coursework, opens new possibilities for employment and illustrates your dedication to achieving excellence.
Goals and Course Topics
Majoring in Business Administration and obtaining a Criminal Justice Minor provides knowledge and skills that can help you move into law enforcement leadership. Course topics include criminal justice, police in America, criminal investigation, drugs and substance abuse.
Criminal Justice Minor Format
The Criminal Justice Minor is presented online for students whose busy lifestyles or location make it difficult to attend structured classes. Small classes facilitate productive discussions and personal attention from your instructor. The time for completion depends on the number of courses you take per semester. If you take six courses for 18 credit hours at once, you can complete the Criminal Justice Minor in one semester. You may take one to five courses during each 15-week semester.
Who This Criminal Justice Minor Program is For
The Criminal Justice Minor program is for adults who have completed 18 semester hours including CRJ 301 or SOC 216 and 15 hours of Criminal Justice electives. We prefer applicants with official transcripts showing a 2.0 or higher GPA in Criminal Justice. Full-time work experience is not required.
You must apply far enough in advance to submit transcripts and follow acceptance procedures. If you are a GPS student currently, check with Financial Aid to see if minor courses are covered.
