Welcome to the Averett Family!  I am the Assistant Director of GPS admissions at our Tidewater campus. I have worked for Averett University for the past 16 years, and it continues to be an incredible and rewarding experience! To interact with such diverse students and watch them achieve their goals is a blessing and an inspiration. I was fortunate to grow up as a military brat and live in various states. When my father retired, Virginia became our home and I chose to earn my Bachelor of Art in Psychology from The College of William and Mary.

I commenced my career working as a Counselor at an outdoor treatment facility for troubled youth. I excelled in this role and knew that my calling in life was to help others. Today, my career at Averett continues to give me the opportunity to help others on a daily basis. My primary goal is to help students that have left the university for any one of a variety of reasons and who now want to come back but aren’t sure how to (re)start.

There is no greater feeling than when a student  who has returned to his/her academic pursuits at Averett calls me to let me know that he/she is getting ready to graduate. I am so humbled that I was allowed to be a small part of their educational journey.
