I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant in charge of organizing new students who apply to the GPS programs. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Marketing in 2017 from Lakeland University, a small liberal arts college in Sheboygan Wisconsin. Through my studies and working in the Sports Information Department, I fell in love with the small school community Lakeland established. Moving to Danville, Virginia and Averett University was no change from the small community Lakeland provided me. I love the opportunity I have to interact with new students as they start their admissions process. Seeing GPS students work toward their degrees is all the motivation I need to earn my own degree from Averett University. From the short time I have been with Averett I have learned that Averett is truly One Team and everyone is here to help the students succeed. Averett GPS students have showed me that, if you put the work in, Averett will be a picture perfect experience.

When I am not at work, or doing class work, you can find me riding a bike along the Dan River, supporting Averett athletic teams, or trying new recipes. After my time at Averett, I hope to continue working with college students whether it is directly through admissions, student success, or marketing the school.
Kathy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Lakeland University in 2017 and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Averett.
