What is your motivation for obtaining your degree?
Obtaining my degree has been something I’ve regretted not doing since I graduated high school. It’s always been that little something in the back of my mind.
Why did you choose Averett’s Graduate & Professional Studies Program?
Having not been a student for 26 years, I needed the discipline of being in a classroom. And while I didn’t want to be there every night, one night a week seemed manageable.
Please share one tip for your fellow classmates and future AU students:
Take the time to make the grade – don’t cheat yourself.
What helps to keep you motivated while you are in the program?
Many things keep me motivated… The positive examples I’m setting for my son such as, 1) we are never too old to learn, 2) we shouldn’t set limits on ourselves, and 3) finishing something we’ve started. Self-satisfaction also keeps me motivated and knowing that one day I’ll be able to say, “I did it! Yay me!”

May 2017!
