What is your motivation for obtaining your degree?
My motivation for obtaining my degree began when I started attended college. When I graduated from high school, I was unable to successfully complete college at the time due to life situations that forced me to work. I always felt a lack of accomplishment. Due to this feeling, I told my family I was determined to finish college once my youngest daughter graduated from high school. And, here I am, four years later, an upper classman at Averett University.

Why did you choose Averett’s Graduate & Professional Studies Program?
I chose Averett’s GPS program because I am able to work on my education from a distance, while at the same time work a full-time job and take care of my family. The flexibility of being able to complete courses online have almost allowed me to reach my goal of receiving my Bachelor’s degree.

Please share one tip for your fellow classmates and future AU students:
The one tip I have for my fellow classmates and future AU students is to remain focused on your goal.

What helps to keep you motivated while you are in the program?
What helps to keep me motivated while in the program is understanding that there is a light at the end of this tunnel and that I will be able to grow in my current position. My family is also a motivation for me. I’m teaching them a lesson on how hard work and sacrifice can pay off in the end.

What is your anticipated Date of Graduation?
My anticipated graduate date is May 2017!
