First Responder Scholarship

In appreciation for the selfless, courageous work First Responders perform on a daily basis, Averett University’s Graduate & Professional Studies (GPS) has launched a scholarship developed specifically for this elite group of professionals.

We are offering a $1,000 scholarship to EVERY First Responder who applies to the University during the month of May 2018.*

We thank you for:

• arriving at the scenes before anyone else,
• making immediate and appropriate decisions confidently and carefully, and
• remaining calm and focused despite what you see and what you are called to do in that rescue moment.

Plus, with a military background and/or academy credits, some officers may have upwards of 36 credits – which is equivalent to more than a year of completion!

*To embrace the $1,000 First Responder Scholarship, you must apply within the month of May 2018 and then start your academic program within 12 months of being awarded the scholarship. The scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other institutional-provided discount or scholarship.
