What is your motivation for obtaining your degree?
I am currently employed at United Healthcare. I love my job and having opportunities to grow. I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration to give me the boost I need to continue to learn, grow, and move into new roles within the company.
Why did you choose Averett’s Graduate & Professional Studies Program?
I quickly found that it is very difficult to juggle working full time and trying to earn a degree. I have tried going to school while working full time with other schools, but it just wasn’t feasible for me. The GPS Program at Averett makes it manageable for students to work and handle their school workload. I also love that the classes are only 5 weeks long and it puts you on a fast track to earn a degree. The GPS Program really is a perfect fit for me.

Please share one tip for your fellow classmates and future AU students.
Don’t procrastinate! I have always been a procrastinator, but with each class being 5 weeks, I’ve learned I really can’t wait until the last minute to do assignments. I like to look at the week’s workload at the beginning of the week and make a plan to make sure I have time to complete all of my tasks.
What helps to keep you motivated while you are in the program?
Graduation! I love getting my grades in a timely manner and really knowing where I stand in the class. Graduation seems closer than ever and I am looking forward to having that degree and moving up within my company.
What is your anticipated Date of Graduation?
