video conferencing in classroom

As a result of countless brainstorming sessions to explore and identify a viable way to help the degree-seeking Averett college student who desires to pursue a degree at Averett’s Danville, Richmond, Roanoke, or Quantico locations – there’s now a 21st century solution: video conferencing within the traditional classroom setting.

Averett University’s Graduate and Professional Studies program is pleased to announce its new video conferencing format. It was designed specifically for you – the adult college student who wants to embrace the camaraderie and support of other like-minded students – face to face – in the physical classroom environment. While many colleges and universities in Virginia are literally closing their doors to the traditional classroom-learning environment and focusing on just online degree programs, Averett is expanding its traditional classroom-learning environment. Averett’s new technology allows students from different geographic areas to gather in a classroom setting and learn together via a 21st century video conference format.

video conferencing with other classroom

Here’s how it works:

  • After consulting with an Averett Admissions Counselor, you enroll in the university’s BBA or MBA video conference format.
  • You’ll attend a traditional classroom setting for each class at one of four satellite locations where there will either be an actual Instructor leading the class, or
  • You’ll be at a campus location in a classroom with other students on the same academic path who are viewing the LIVE college course(s) via video teleconferencing.

Either way, you’ll be able to hear and see everything in real-time that all the students can hear and see, and you’ll be able to ask questions and participate in the real-time learning.

If you have been considering going back to college to commence (or complete) your BBA studies, or want to go on to earn your MBA at Averett but don’t want to take courses online and don’t want to drive over an hour to attend classes at the campuses that offer the courses or program you seek, a new door has just opened for you. This cutting-edge technology connects students in multiple locations via live video, creating one cohort of students who will move through their courses together. Averett is able to offer both their BBA program and their MBA programs via this new video conference format at classroom locations in Danville, Richmond, Roanoke, and Quantico.

Ready to Pursue Your Degree?

The next BBA and MBA programs start at all four locations on July 31, 2017. In addition, a second MBA program is starting August 14, 2017.
